Cheers Indonesia

That’s a wrap on this Indonesia mini-tour. Thank you to everyone who came to one of our 3 shows! Infinite gratitude to everyone at British Council ID, Archipelago Festival, Greenpeace Indonesia, SOS Forests, Music for Brighter Day and Rumah Sanur for making this all happen, it was a privilege to have had the opportunity.

Cheers to Josh Taffel for filling in on drums, plus to Teia Fregona on guitars and synths always. Special shout out to our hero Adrian Wail for looking after us so diligently and to Simon, Abbey and Nadhira for also being awesome.

Picture below is from my Wallacea Week show at the National Library for Greenpeace and SOS Forests - PLEASE check out the excellent work both are doing to preserve the natural sounds of Indonesia’s rainforests, which we are in constant danger of losing if massive industry is not kept in check.

Indonesia shows!

It’s been SO hard to keep this under wraps, but I’m unbelievably excited to finally reveal that in October my band and I will perform 2 shows in Indonesia, for Archipelago Festival and the British Council’s UK/ID Festival! There may even be a 3rd to be announced shortly…

As a half-Indonesian it’s massive for me to finally be able to play in my family’s home country. Full autumn tour dates below:

Queen Elizabeth Hall, 14th Sept

There aren’t many words to describe how special last night’s show was at Southbank Centre. Duetting with Midlake’s Tim Smith, playing a Cocteau Twins song with a Cocteau Twin, backing up the wonderful Marissa Nadler, harmonising with Lowly’s Soffie and Horse Thief’s Cameron, warming up using the Rocky theme backstage with Ghostpoet, etc.

Huge love to everyone who got down early to see my opening set. Wish we could do that all over again. Simon, Richie, Lost Horizons, thanks for having us all on board.
